1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before? Ran a convention, got a real job, lived in a warehouse.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I didn't make any, just felt lonely and wanted it not to be so (this is in a romantic sense, by the way. I do not want for more friends, you guys are all great). That hasn't happened, so I guess I didn't.
As for making any for next year, probably more of the same. I'm a big romantic that way.
Or insecure, needy lech, if you prefer.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Not that I know of.
4. Did anyone close to you die? Can't think of anyone.
5. What countries did you visit? None.
6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?
7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? Can't think of anything really relevant.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Getting my new job, I'd say. Probably the convention thing, too, it went pretty well.
9. What was your biggest failure? Uh, can't think of anything. That's probably a really good sign.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Nothing special.
11. What was the best thing you bought? Can't think of anything.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Lots of people.
juliadactyl,
andrewaskew and
tabithina have been especially Gunn.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? Can't think of anyone, really.
14. Where did most of your money go? Food, comics and other frivolities.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? The Bens concert. Living with Nichi and Charlie (albeit briefly).
16. What song will always remind you of 2003? I frequently had She Makes My Day (Robert Palmer) and Slice of Heaven (Dave Dobbyn) in my head, in regards to a couple of people. Also, Bruised (The Bens) and Crying Like a Church on Monday (The New Radicals) made a pretty big impact on me.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Absolutely happier. I'd only been out of my last relationship for a month, this time last year.
ii. thinner or fatter? A little thinner, I think. I still feel fat, but I lost 15 kilo, so go me.
iii. richer or poorer? Richer, I'd say.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Running the game ideas I've had.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Worrying about not having a job or a girlfriend.
20. How will you be spending Christmas? Still uncertain. May be going down to Bateman's Bay, but won't be able to leave until tomorrow night, then I want to be back on the evening of the 27th, so that's not long. Also, the traffic's likely to suck.
My family seems to care more about Christmas than I do. To me, it's a week before New Year's Day.
Consequently, I give my family their New Year's presents on the 25th of December, so they have a week to enjoy them in this year, before the next.
What happened to 21? Hrm.
22. Did you fall in love in 2003? Either no, or multiple times, but to no effect, depending on how one measures such things. Probably the latter. In particular, fell again for previous people.
23. How many one-night stands? Sort of one, but it wasn't a random stranger or anything. Not entirely sure how I feel about it, really.
24. What was your favorite TV program? Most likely Angel, though I haven't watched a lot of TV. Foot-thick concrete walls will do that to your TV habit.

38. Who was the best new person you met? I'm going to have to go with
tabithina.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003: I'm a cool and lovely person. Still having trouble absorbing this lesson, but people keep trying to teach it.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
"Don't stop me now
I'm havin' such a good time
I'm havin' a ball
Don't stop me now
If you wanna have a good time
Just give me a call"
