Incredible creature
Apr. 23rd, 2005 12:02 amJust came home from the Cat Empire concert. I had a good time, even if the lyrics were a tad unintelligible (I like to be able to actually hear the poetry in lyrics). Musically, they were pumping. Twelve-piece band! Woah.
Attended with Mum (
gytha_ogg), Jenn (
astridthemighty), Nichi (
vonwoof) and Charlie, who were all fine concert company. Good to see Nichi and Charlie again, especially after such a short interval since the last time (the Ben Folds gig), compared to the gap prior.
The next gap is liable to be even narrower, as they're having this dinner party next week. I look forward to it.
It's also good to see Mum and Jenn again, as they've been away for about a week.
During that time, Jenn's discovered knitting. She's already made five scarves (six, if you count the tiny one she made for the dolls' house), including the one with which she presented me this evening.
It's lovely and grey and so soft. It also has a button at the end, so it can be easily wound into a roll and buttoned shut, for easy carrying. Totally cunning.
Tomorrow: Democracy matinee, Sydney Theatre.
Looks like I'm a busy B again.
I'm such a happy Benj.
"It's the heart afraid of breaking
That never learns to dance
It's the dreamer 'fraid of waking
That never takes the chance
It's the one who won't be taken,
Who cannot seem to give,
And the soul afraid of dying
That never learns to live"
