Who will believe my verse in time to come?

Quite a good day, although it didn't get off to the best start.

About five minutes into the run, as I crouched to lift a box of books, my trousers tore. Clean along the seam, right through the crotch.
Sigh.

This was, needless to say, inconvenient.
I took it in stride (so to speak) and - tying my overshirt around my waist - soldiered on, the general public unaware of my "wardrobe malfunction".

This would have been less embarassing, I feel, if the EXACT SAME THING hadn't happened this time last week.
Last week, I was loading boxes so we could move shelves around for the library refurbishment.
But still, I really can't afford to lose a pair of trousers a week. :|
Admittedly, both of said pairs of pants were made at the same time, by the same tailor, a year ago.
They're otherwise in quite good condition. So, repairing is, I feel, a plan.

My truly fine mood remains unflapped by such a minor setback as breezy breeches, however. You find me, gentle reader, in most excellent colour of caprice and quality.

After sorting out that little problem, delivering a parcel for mum (gytha_ogg) and washing/hanging out my washing, I headed to Tom (furpants_tom) and Julia's (juliadactyl), to hang out with them (along with Paddy), watching Season 2 of Smallville.

The first half of our quest is completed (Go Quest Journal!)

Tomorrow I shall return and we shall continue our adventures in TV indulgence!

One year pants

The idea of date coded clothing is interesting. This pair exploded ONE YEAR after manufacture - last week's went off early. Could be a way of protecting the super fashion conscious from ever being out of date - instead of owning the item, one owns a license to wear it for x amount of time, then it disappears! Wise to keep good diary notes....... I will attempt to rescue these pants on return as the matching jacket is of less use alone.
Better check if Jenn's and my tailored items from the same day are still extant.
