Friday: Worked, then walked straight down the ramp from the parking lot to the pub, where I met up with Tom ([livejournal.com profile] furpants_tom), Julia ([livejournal.com profile] juliadactyl), Heather ([livejournal.com profile] whirlygig), Andrew ([livejournal.com profile] andrewaskew), Chris ([livejournal.com profile] puddlesofun), Harry ([livejournal.com profile] hswift), Erasmus ([livejournal.com profile] often_normal), Justin ([livejournal.com profile] justinant), Percy ([livejournal.com profile] crispypercy, Owen ([livejournal.com profile] illykai), Joshua ([livejournal.com profile] samurai_josh), Big Daddy Matt and Danny, to celebrate the end of uni semester.
I pretty quickly tired of the smokey pub, but soon after that we decided to leave, bound for Tom and Julia's.

Once there, Dan ([livejournal.com profile] danoot) and Jo ([livejournal.com profile] hersheybar) joined us.
We watched Saved, which is tops. Macauley Culkin is so much better now that he's not an annoying child star. He handed in a fine performance as the bitter, sarcastic cripple.

Headed off about eleven, so I could go to bed.
Didn't manage to sleep until one.

Saturday: Went to the Age of Aquarius ([livejournal.com profile] aoa_freeform) Elizabethan costuming day.
Found out I'll be playing Shakespeare! Huzzah!
Brought a raft of books for people to look at and from which to draw inspiration.
Took a convoy of people to Spotlight in Birkenhead Point, to shop for material. Helped people choose fabric. Looks like they'll look rather spiffy.
The whole affair went on a fair slice longer than expected, but was good fun. Even if people did seem far too happy to just hand all the actual handiwork over to Heidi ([livejournal.com profile] fayr) and Rhi ([livejournal.com profile] regency_rhi).

Sunday: Grabbed Rhi again and swung over to Bierhaus II to pick up Boots ([livejournal.com profile] boots262). We were greeted at the door by a somewhat glare-blinded Georgia ([livejournal.com profile] tabithina), who invited us in and roused Boots from his dire slumber.
Yeah, it's a good morning when the news of your arrival elicits a muffled "Oh, fuck!" as the response from the next room. Wizard.
Had a brief tour of the new haus, including comment upon their island rock-garden and discussion of cupboard depths.
Said a hello to Dan while Boots cleansed himself.
Soon enough we trundled off to Kane ([livejournal.com profile] malinari86 and Kristen's ([livejournal.com profile] thebluefairy) for Agone.

Slew shapechanging lizard-people, thwarted the defiling of a great hero's tomb, etc.

Dropped Rhi home before Jaime and I trotted off to Outside of time. Good session. Lots of solid character interaction and exploration of world detail.

Monday: Harkened to the call to action!
Or "Went and picked up Rhi when she called me."
We drove out to the Singer service centre to pick up her newly repaired sewing machine.
It was very nice, just going driving with her.
I was also very happy to see her so pleased at getting her baby back. :)

Work.

After work, I headed to Book club ([livejournal.com profile] justonemorepage) to discuss The Minotaur takes a cigarette break. Discussion was nice and fluid, with interesting stuff raised.
Just the kind of discussion for which I joined, I think. Helped cement my enjoyment of the book, because it helped stimulate thought about it.

After the meeting I drove over to Bez ([livejournal.com profile] bezique) and Shoshe's for the 4th of July party.
Ate delicious gumbo, cornbread, coffee cake, apple pie and other sundry tasties.
Had a good time in a relaxing party atmosphere.
Eventually headed home.

Yesterday: Acquired a new sheet set, in gorgeous sky blue flannelette. So comfy, oh yes. I put them on last night and they're beautifully soft, warm and generally improve my whole "bed experience" more than I'd expected. So nice.
Now I must resist the urge to impoverish myself by purchasing more such items. But they're so nice.
And currently on sale.
Though this does still make them fifty bucks.

Did more washing (including my sheets, naturally).

Went to a family friend, Judy's, to pick up keys and meet her cat, Tabitha, whom I am feeding for a while.

Picked Jenn ([livejournal.com profile] astridthemighty) up from choir school. Hung out with her and mum ([livejournal.com profile] gytha_ogg) for a while, then we went to Flodge.

Saw Rhi for the fourth day in a row. Mmm.

Went off to 7th Sea. At Bez's, this time, so we players could help polish off the leftover gumbo, coffee cake, cookies, etc.
Happy to be of aid to a good cause, we helped selflessly. :)

Pretty good session. Investigation, interestingly run combat and character development.

Dropped Norton ([livejournal.com profile] eganra) home, then dropped Caleb at Ashfield station. Went home and slept.

Today: It feels like I've done nothing.
I got up at eight, but I couldn't tell you what I've done for the last four and a half hours.
Presumably something online, though I've apparently only been on for about an hour.
So there's three hours for which I cannot account.

I find myself bedevilled by thoughts of converting Star Wars to 7th Sea (which came out of a conversation with Caleb last night), Trinity to Minds Eye Theatre and Agone to GURPS.
System functions and probabilites whirl in my brain.
Again.

Oh, right. I wondered where you all were. Having a deserted house on a tuesday evening seemed kinda wrong.

Gurps

How is Agone as a game? If your are going to do Gurps, why not go all the way to Hero. That will make your brain hurt even more. :)

Good. It's a lovely setting.
A really vicious combat system and spells which will totally mess people up. Like one which Kristen's character, Joren, has, that does 1d10 PERMANENT Intelligence damage. An average person has Intelligence 5.

Savage.

Basically, because I just don't like Hero as much.
It doesn't make my brain hurt, it just doesn't do much for me.

Mmm, Peanut M&Ms...

Due to a loop in the continuity of this show, Benj wasn't actually aware of the existence of people with red hair during that night.

It's really not his fault - blame the producers ;)

Benji. You are a man. A man who plays games. Therefore come along to my place this saturday, and play games.
Hmm... I should possibly provide link to relevant details:
http://www.livejournal.com/users/spidercat/56533.html
This is not implying that you cannot bring non-males along. Nor is it implying that peopel who don't play games aren't invited. It was jsut a catchy phrase...

All right I was wrong.

Stop staring at me.

STOP STARING AT ME!!!

hahahaha

I love the fact that my early mornign interlocks are not engaged, so what I WANT to say is "Damn, I slept in, poor Rhi and Benj, having to wait for me", but what comes out is "OH FUCK!"

I felt it got that message across quite eloquently.
All is well. :)
