Beasts of England

Things!

Friday: Attempted to give blood, without success. Apparently there's been a huge response to the blood bank's plaintive cries, so they couldn't fit us (us being Julia ([livejournal.com profile] juliadactyl) and I) in.
So instead we bought chocolate.
I picked up, in the spirit of trying new things, some chocolate-covered peanut brittle.
Tasty.

In the early afternoon, I got a call from the State Library. They want to interview me for a full-time position tomorrow.

Worked.

Straight after work, I went over to Rhi's ([livejournal.com profile] regency_rhi) and picked her up. Apparently, yes, she does go there often. :)
We grabbed Thai for dinner (mmm, Thai) and went to mine to cuddle up on the couch to watch Black books, of which she'd seen only a smidgen.
It seemed to go down well with her and I enjoyed seeing it again.
Two months! Whee!

Saturday:
Revisited Rhi's to take her to Kristen's ([livejournal.com profile] thebluefairy) Werewolf game, [livejournal.com profile] truthandclaw.
Game was good. I participated only a little in direct plot stuff, but got to talk to a bunch of people, totally drain myself spiritually (and spend another twenty minutes or so, reeling from that) and NPC some fetish gear-clad mad killers, so it was pretty rewarding.

Dropped by mum's ([livejournal.com profile] gytha_ogg) to pick up play tickets. Ended up staying much longer than expected.

After acquiring some dinner, Rhi and I changed into smarter duds to head out to the theatre.
We went and saw This little piggy, which is - it turns out - a much more direct sequel to Animal farm than I'd thought it was to be.
Pretty good, if a bit stilted and choppy in places.
Nice use of song and dance. Made things feel even more furtive and like the characters were desperately eager to please.
The costumes were very cool. The pig's legs drenched in blood and filth up to the knee, the eagle in his exceptionally long tails, the horse in her bell skirt and corset.

Sunday:
Went to work.

From work, I went straight to Georgina ([livejournal.com profile] shenavyr), Edwina ([livejournal.com profile] eddles) and Heli's, for Heli's farewell party.
Chatted lots, played some board games (Cosmic encounter and Fistful of dragonstones) and generally farewelled Heli with fun.
A little after two, I managed to get out of there, taking Marc ([livejournal.com profile] talecrafter) and Jaime home.

A good evening.

Monday:
I'm sure I did something.
Woke up at eight, despite no bedding down until three.

Went to work.

Went to Tom ([livejournal.com profile] furpants_tom) and Julia's, for traditional Monday evening chilling.
Fell asleep on their couch. Awoke to Chris ([livejournal.com profile] puddlesofun) and Andrew ([livejournal.com profile] andrewaskew) present, which was a nice surprise.
Eventually I went home.

Yesterday:
Corresponded with the HR manager of the State Library about details for tomorrow.
I don't feel nervous.
At least, not yet.

Okay, that's not true.
I'm nervous about telling my current manager that I'm talking to the State.
I can't shake the feeling that I'm some kind of traitor. :(

Went and saw What the BLEEP do we know? with Owen ([livejournal.com profile] illykai). It's nay bad, if a tad preachy near the very end.
But: Delicious quantum physics!

Dinner at Flodge, with quite a small turnout (just Rhi, Andrew, mum, Jenn (lj user="astridthemighty">) and myself). Must be something to do with StuVac.
It was nice, all the same.

After dinner, I pushed on past my post-prandial narcolepsy and went to Norton's ([livejournal.com profile] eganra) 7th sea game. It was good to get back in the swing of things, as well as see Nick ([livejournal.com profile] _finbar_) for the first time in ages.

Today:
It's raining. Still.
This is bad for my plans of doing washing, so I'll have nice, clean pants to wear for my interview tomorrow.
Woe.
