Some jive and stuff
Apr. 29th, 2005 11:49 amThe Home Library run went by very quickly yesterday. Quickly in a literal sense (rather than a perceptual sense), as I just seemd to be extra-efficient and finished up an hour earlier than anticipated, which made my standing around at the circ desk even longer. Extra desk-time meant I saw more of the children who were around for story time, which was nice. Work was otherwise uneventful.
Hours of time to waste then fell into my hands.
I dealt with some more washing, taking things off the line and putting more things out. Ironed a mess of shirts, which was surprisingly exhausting, as it was hitting 3 and the sun was knifing in through the Western exposure of mum's verandah. I don't normally associate ironing with being rimed with sweat, but there you go.
Ducked home and had a cool shower (definitely required) before I went over to Rhi's.
As usual, seeing Rhi was the pinnacle of my day. More resolutions were made and a clearer, grander picture painted.
So happy. :)
Had to part, though, as I'd agreed to go and see Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy with Sutekh. I wasn't that enthusiastic, as I suspected it would be disappointing, compared with the mini-series.
And even moreso, compared with an evening in the charms of my lovely lady.
However, I'd already said I would and Rhi needed to get some more work done, so I bid her a good evening and was on my bathrobe wearing, towel-clutching way.
Turns out I was right about disappointing(on both counts). Which is sad. There were certainly elements I really liked about the film (the Vogon fleet was pretty cool, though they missed the opportunity to mention how they "hung in the air, the same way that bricks don't"), but others that really shat me off (Zaphod's extra head was LAME).
Came home and didn't feel so bouncy. I'm worried about TAFE a fair bit. I'm slipping back into "fuck it" mode, which is not a great mode in which to be when I have a project proposal soon.
Okay, time for life.

Takes it easy, baby

Don't move too fast
And you want your love to last
Oh, you've been movin' much too fast"

Not quite the image of a sweaty iron man that people might expect - the ironing board, hot metallic thing for clothes pressing and such are incongruous with the beach, after all :)

Date: 2005-04-29 05:25 am (UTC)I'm just feeling uninspired about picking a question. Feeling like nothing's solid enough and that any big question's will be more than the task warrants. Me and my perfectionism, at it again.
I guess I just need an idea into which I can somewhat sink my teeth.
