Mood swing

Yesterday was quite a relaxed affair. I spent much of it lounging around a lady's boudoir (or "hanging out" with Rhiannon ([livejournal.com profile] regency_rhi), if you want to use a newer term), engaged in witty conversation, listening to (often times surprisingly familiar) music, inspecting fragments of 1930s women's magazines (which led to my comment about how time travel would be hard, if only for trying to read the paper with a straight face), reading The Vulgar Tongue (rather a good read, albeit lacking phonetics, which is sometimes annoying) and generally having a real cool time.
Discussions on the matters of lightning sand and gossip were stand-out features, I feel.

Somewhat regretfully, I made my farewells and headed to Flodge.
Julia ([livejournal.com profile] juliadactyl) and I spent some time going "Wheee!", which was nice.

Norton's ([livejournal.com profile] eganra) 7th Sea game (which still needs a name, I feel, but doesn't have the same kind of cohesion as The Knights and The Frogs do, which makes it harder) didn't start until later than usual, so I didn't end up getting home until almost one.

So naturally I'm up now. I seem to now be used to this, though. The rain was drumming away when I awoke and the rain usually does a solid job of letting me coast along asleep, so I must have just had enough sleep.
Which is weird, as I'm normally an eight hour sleeper. Maybe I've just adjusted again, I guess.

I slept like a log, peaceful as you please. I just didn't do it for very long.

It kind of stole upon me suddenly, but my mood has shifted again and I'm no longer happy like I have been of late.

I'm absolutely, spectacularly ecstatic.

Life is good.

"As my life goes on I believe
Somehow something’s changed
Something deep inside
Ooh, a part of me

There’s a strange new light in my eyes
Things I’ve never known
Changin’ my life
Changin’ me"

Mmm. Flodge. I love their Teriyaki Chicken Burger things. Mmm.

Lightning Sand is very important, after all.

I'm absolutely, spectacularly ecstatic.

Excellent to hear. You strike me as someone that deserves it.

A group of us are there most every Tuesday evening. Come along sometime, if it works with your schedule.

Yes, metaphorically speaking, at least.

Excellent to hear. You strike me as someone that deserves it.

Thank you. I think you may be right. :)

Should do :) I think I shall take you up on that offer - a Bus from Strathfield (where I work) should get me pretty close to the Flodge too.

Yes, metaphorically speaking, at least.

Literally, too.

"So, Mr. Trying-to-sell-me-a-different-electricity-provider-at-8:30pm, could you take a slight step to the left? Yes, a little further..." *Sales-person vanishes into the Lightning Sand*

Thank you. I think you may be right. :)

Halcyon might not be so suitable for you these days... how does ebullient sound?

Ebullient
adj.
1. Zestfully enthusiastic.
2. Boiling or seeming to boil; bubbling.
3. Joyously unrestrained.

I agree with this - you deserve it :)

Although I'm quite familiar with Lightning Sand in its usual form, the name has always made me think of powdered electricity.

"...which still needs a name, I feel, but doesn't have the same kind of cohesion as The Knights and The Frogs do, which makes it harder."

Indeed, but as you say, we're not as homogenous as the other two games. We'd have to settle for something like Wulfcarl's Travelling Mayhem Spectacular.

Of the two other groups, the Frogs are definitely the less varied.
All the Knights have keeping them related is their membership to the Order.

I think we need a name that captures the common thread of the past being enormously significant to us (Wulfcarl's revenge/religion, Max's family, Antonio's family, Philipe's criminal connections and Kjöt's multiple mysterious family backstories).

A more non-specific name would be easier - I'm currently amused by Pasts Present and You Can't Go Home Again. A Latin tag on one of my new building's stained glass windows also has been niggling at me as somewhat appropriate: Tempus et Hora, or Time and the Hour.
