Crematorium, day 2
Jun. 6th, 2006 04:10 pmIt's my second day and they're already saying they'd rather keep me than have the regular guy back.
Yesterday (after I posted) water started sluicing through the ceiling, through one of the light fittings in one of the chapels, directly over the coffin space. Thankfully the remains had already been cremated so they just had a box, which they were able to put on a table in front of the curtains.
Looks like it rained so hard that it broke through the cement of the roof and into the ceiling cavity.
Today I attended a morning staff meeting and got to meet more of the cemetary team. They seem like fun people, especially Peter, the grave seller. He's a very cheerful guy. He gave us a lift back to the crematorium because it was raining so hard.
Lots of paperwork. Impressed all with my mail merging/direct faxing skillz.
Pretty good day.
Two more sleeps 'til pie day!
