May. 2nd, 2005 10:34 amSaturday was magical. A delightfully large slice of the day spent with my Rhiannon walking in the sunshine, sitting in the grass, indulging in the classic (sat down and watched State Fair, of which I hadn't seen the movie version) and ringing in the new.
Eventually we made ourselves vaguely fit for social interaction and headed to Nichi (
vonwoof) and Charlie's dinner party/croquet afternoon.
Naturally introductions went well and all got along just fine (I was confident they would).
We began a game of six for croquet and Rhi raced out ahead of everyone else. I was doing alright, but nothing exciting.
Then three more guests arrived and we began again in teams. For ^some^ reason, Rhi bagsed me swiftly (I think she likes me ;) ).
We then proceeded to play terribly. Fouled shots, way overshooting hoops, knocking hoops over, the lot.
I'd blame the failing light, but nobody else suffered such a blow to their ability.
It's not like we even had to work together directly, as it was simple staggered strokes, like doubles' pool.
I think I may have to blame lack of focus. :)
Dinner went nicely (the bean/rib casserole was especially good, I felt), with excellent table conversation for people who'd never met before.
Saw Eureka for the first time in quite a while, which was a nice surprise.
Somehow the topic of my first breakup came up, which was somewhat interesting.
Around eleven I took my lovely home (mmm, goodnight kiss) and went home myself.
Yesterday: Work, which was fair quiet. *shrug*
Called Rhi to say "Happy one week!", which was wonderful. Only one week? It certainl doesn't feel it.
In the evening (the real me comes alive) I got to run a session of Worlds Apart for the first time in two months.
It felt good to get back into the swing of it. Much longer and we may well have lost our collective drive for the game, so it's good I pushed for getting moving once more.
Plots were moved forward, surprising revelations had and resolutions made. All good.
Today, I have nothing concrete to do until work at four.
But after work I'm to dinner with Rhi, Tan (
sad_frog) and their brother, who's about to move interstate, so I get to meet him before his disappearance.
I'm rather looking forward to it. :)
